Paw Notes

A little prep goes a long way!
Here you'll find everything you need to know before your pup’s appointment, from grooming tips and coat care to our shop policies and what to expect on the day. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular tail-wagger, these notes help make every visit smooth and stress-free.

De-matting

We believe grooming should always be a calm, caring experience, never stressful or painful.
For dogs with severely matted coats, we choose the most compassionate and skin-safe option: a complete shave. Attempting to de-mat heavy tangles can cause significant discomfort, skin irritation, or even injury.
By gently removing the mats, we allow the coat to grow back evenly, healthier, and more manageable. It’s a fresh start that supports your dog’s overall well-being and ensures every visit leaves them feeling comfortable, confident, and beautifully cared for.

2

Handling With Care

Some dogs need a little extra support during grooming and that’s okay. If your pup becomes highly anxious or reactive, we recommend speaking with your vet about ways to help keep them calm.

While we handle all pets with patience and care, safety is always our priority. In cases where a dog requires additional time or special handling, a $10 fee will be added to the appointment.

3

Late & No-Show Policy

We kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. Running late can impact not only your pup’s grooming session, but also the schedule of others. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule to ensure each dog receives the full attention they deserve.

Missed appointments or no-shows make it difficult for us to accommodate other clients. As such, we reserve the right to charge a no-show fee or require a deposit for future bookings.

4

Anal Gland Care

Anal glands are small scent glands located just beneath the skin on either side of your dog’s rear. While many dogs manage them naturally, some may experience discomfort or blockages.

Scooting, licking, or a strong odor around the back end are common signs that your dog may need some relief. If you notice any of these, we’re happy to help.

Anal gland expression is available by request and is offered as an additional service for $15. If you're unsure whether your pup needs it, just let us know during your visit we’re here to keep them comfortable and well cared for.
